The Freestyle Culture

(world of freestyle)

"Fighting with style" is a good definition to describe freestyle in a few words. This form of rapping comes from the branch of Hip-Hop, that artistic movement that originated in the North American country, to be more precise, in New York City at the end of the 70s.

The term freestyler defines the one who makes an improvisation, although the term MC is generally used. The difference is that the freestyler only improvises, while the "MC" is someone who does Rap and also improvises. In the first freestyle competitions in the United States, the MC was in charge of leading the ceremony and entertaining those present. Hence the term MC (Master of Ceremonies).

The main feature that stands out from the other styles is improvisation. His themes are varied, from politics and social criticism to everyday life. Freestyle had its birth next to break dance, since rhymes had
to be improvised in order to dance.

The free works as a recreational activity that is used for fun and sometimes in protest mode, it is done either in events with stage and speakers or in park spaces with a person who does beat box.

The beat box is a form of vocal sound that is based on producing rhythms of any kind of musical rhythm using your own mouth, nose, lips, tongue and voice.

EXAMPLES OF FREESTYLES.

This is a type of freestyle free to have fun, improvising with those that occur to you on the road and adapting to the base. This is something different from the freestyle in battles, that basically tries to propose and respond to ideas either violent, witty or funny.

MEANING OF HIP HOP.

The 4 branches of hip hop.

Hip Hop is an artistic movement composed of a broad conglomerate of artistic forms, originated within a marginal subculture in the south of the bronx and harlem, in the city of New York, among young Latin and African Americans, during the 1970s.

Hip hop is characterized by 4 elements, which represent the different manifestations of culture: Rap (Oral: recite or sing), turntablism or "DJing" (Auditory or musical), Breaking (physical: dance) and Graffiti (visual: painting).

In conclusion for me, freestyle is a way of expressing oneself and many times people see this type of culture as a crime when in reality all that is sought with this street art is to convey a message.
